A: The openable part of an egress window must provide a minimum area of 3.8 square feet with no single dimension less than 15 inches, in accordance with the Ontario Building Code.

Q: What is the maximum sill height allowed for an egress window in Ontario?

A: For areas above the basement, the maximum sill height is 40 inches from the floor to the bottom of the clear opening.
